Craft Brew Changes Ticker to ‘BREW’ from ‘HOOK’

March 15, 2012

Fresh on the heels of a rosy earnings announcement, Craft Brew Alliance Inc. has changed its ticker symbol.

The company formerly known as Craft Brewers Alliance will start trading on the Nasdaq under the symbol “BREW” on March 22. It currently trades as “HOOK.” The company dropped the “ers” from “Brewers” in 2011 to become Craft Brew Alliance.

The company said its new ticker conveys the “blended colorful histories, different cultures, and shared knowledge of (its) three craft breweries — Redhook, Widmer Brothers and Kona.”

Wednesday, Craft reported a 2011 profit of $3.2 million, or 17 cents per share, on $149 million in sales.

The company formed in 2008 from the merger of Widmer Brothers Brewing and Redhook Ale Brewery. It added Kona Brewing Co in 2010.
